Well, before I start saying all sorts of crazy things as we go on an intellectual yet lighthearted jog together, let us get to know each other.
It would be sufficiently endearing to leave my arduously long name to just : "Bongs". I will not go on a long conversational tirade to discuss whether I am fit to discuss the subject of Finance but I do promise that together we will have very interesting conversations.
Finance makes for a very interesting conversation, aspects of it are everywhere; However it is also perceived to be a not so easy subject to grapple, let alone the "impersonal" persona it assumes among Africans. It is the kind of subject you want to avoid for all about it is awkward, somewhat irrelevant and above all:'foreign'.
There is one thing for certain: every decision taken almost has a financial dimension to it. This applies to decisions made at a personal, corporate or governmental level. And yes, Finance is a foreign language, but one that can be learned with ease for it has been, still is and will always be with us. Hence my first and ultimate objective is to demystify it into a household commodity that we are all familiar and comfortable with.
So here and now begins my solemn hope that the proverbial elephant that has always been in the room will now be spoken about, and not be ignored!
